Orlando Florida is one of the world’s greatest entertainment destinations. With so much to do in such a small space it can be very overwhelming. Theme parks charge an arm and a leg to just walk in the door and offer the same experience with a different coat of paint than the others.
If you look away from the million dollar companies, you might just find the gem that is Orlando Speedworld. This is the home to the famous Crash-A-Rama Series.
The Crash-A-Rama Series is a crazy and unique twist on short track stock car racing.
The Crash-A- Rama Series is a class of alternative thrill show style races, Its less about winning and more about putting on a great show. It also gives anyone and everyone a chance to race, you don't need thousands of dollars or a sponcer. All you need is a running car and a helmet and your ready to slide down the track in a skicar or plow into a boat in the trailer race.
The show spawned out of the fans response to the excitement of the Figure 8 School Bus Race. The track would have a Figure 8 School Bus Race after a long night of your normal Saturday night races in the early 90's. The Figure 8 School Bus Race popularity spawned the idea to bring a whole show of alternative races. Each year there are new races for the fans to see and enjoy.
Over the course of 10 years, the show has grown to a never level of excitement. It has also never been as popular as it is today, from TV shows to video games, our races have been brought to the public with an overwhelming positive response. After standing room only crowds for over 5 years twice a year at Orlando Speedworld, the series is looking to grow and expand into different markets.

Test Drive: Eve of Destruction
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is a video game developed for the PS2 & XBOX by Monster Games in 2004 and published by Atari. The filming & testing simulations of the game sparked the idea for Spike tv's hit show "Carpocalypse". Many crash-a-rama series drivers and events are event featured in the game. Testing for the game was event located at Orlando Speedworld (The Home of the crash-a-rama series)
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction blends the best elements of extreme and insane crash-a-rama series races and brings it to the next level. It's packed with 25 different events, including Demo Derby, where the last car standing wins; Gauntlet, where the player climbs behind the wheel of a hearse and tries to finish a set number of laps while the rest of the field attempts to stop them; Trailer Race, a new brand of racing event, where players compete while towing various types of trailers and must finish the race with something resembling a trailer still attached. Additionally, the game offers more than 30 custom vehicles and a split-screen multiplayer mode for up to four players.
There are 25 events in career mode, including Figure-8 races, Figure-8 Jump Races, Standard races, Suicide Races (the competitors are divided in tour and run the track in opposite directions) Trailer Races, and School Bus Races. Demolition Derbys and Push-Off events are designed with only one goal, destroy all other cars. However, in the push-off events, in which the event takes place on a raised platform, the player may make twice as much points by pushing cars off, instead of just wrecking them. The Death-match and Capture the Flag are multiplayer only events, as is Car Soccer. There are also novelty races such as the 
gauntlet, where a lone hearse must complete a race without being destroyed by a horde of other cars; Detention, where an invincible bus must stop all cars from finishing; and Survival, in which the player must complete a point-to-point race in 60 seconds while the other cars try to destroy them.
Test Drive : Eve of Destruction to this day is still the best game to represent the sport of extreme destruction racing. You can pick the game up on amazion.com for around $40 for a used copy, or $100 for a new version of the game.
Carpocalypse
Spike TV captured the daily drama of how a motley crew of crash addicted racers join together to compete in some of the craziest races ever caught on tape. It premiered on March 5, 2005.
Carpocalypse Season 1
The premise of the show began with the popularity of the Orlando, Florida local Crash-A-Rama series. The filming of the “Test Drive: Eve of Destruction” video game by Atari was what sparked the idea for the show. It all starts out with a challenge given at Orlando Speed World. Twelve Extreme racers must accept the challenge with the “very” limited budget, and build up their race vehicle before the 4 day deadline to “Race Day”. These First 6 episodes were filmed as a pilot in 2004, which has grown much in popularity as one of Spike TV's highest rated shows. Some of the races from season one include: Mini Van Reverse race, Flagpole race, Blind Fold race, Car Soccer, Automotive Roller Derby and an Ambulance chain race.
Carpocalypse Season 2: Civil War
Carpocalypse Civil War is the name given to the 2nd season of Carpocalypse on Spike TV. The show was taped in Orlando, Florida at Orlando Speed World and in Buffalo, New York at Holland Raceway by the creators of Crash-A-Rama. The show consisted of 10 episodes with 2 races per episode. The teams are divided up into two groups of five. Five competitors from the South, including participants from the original Carpocalypse, and five new competitors from the North in a re-creation of the tensions of the United States Civil War. Each week the teams would build vehicles to race per a set of rules not disclosed on the show. Most likely the rules were based on two things: The idea of the race and safety of the drivers. The first five shows were based in the South and then the group moved to the North for the final five episodes. The show was bounced around the Spike TV schedule, originally on Saturday nights, it was then moved to Sunday afternoon with the final two episodes being show on the same Sunday, one in the morning and then the finale hours later in the afternoon.
ONLY IN AMERICA WITH LARRY THE CABLE GUY
The announcement of Larry the cable guy getting his own show on The History Channel first hit the web over a year ago. It had very mixed reactions as to what the show would be about and if it would be any good. But after the premiere people started to realize the show was about everything it promised. A little insight into the lives of hard working Americans doing things only are country does from NASA to NASCAR. The February 8th premiere of Only In America WITH LARRY THE CABLE GUY delivered 4.1 million total viewers, breaking record ratings for the network.
Each episode uncovers surprising information about America's history from the story of how moonshine-making during Prohibition gave rise to one of America's most celebrated past times - NASCAR racing - to the history of etiquette from Emily Post's heirs in Vermont, complete with a lesson in good manners and on March 15th it will be no exception.
4.1 million viewers including CRASH-A-RAMA Series Fans will be in for a treat on March 15th as Larry The Cable Guy visits Orlando Speedworld during one of are events. Larry interviewed Drivers, Raced around the track, watched the races and hung out with the drivers in the pits after the event. Even with all the rain that came that night, the camera crew hung out with us and was able to get Footage of the trailer race and are famous School Bus Figure 8 race.
